Natural Headache Remedy or Remedies
Head splitting, gut-wrenching, these are some of the terms we may use to describe how we feel when we have a headache. Some can just be a mild throb while some kind of headaches can make you gnash your teeth together in numbing pain. Headaches are a very common occurrence in human beings, while it is so common that remedies are a pill away, there are still those who believe that they should just take natural headache remedies to ease the pain of headaches away.
Headaches can be classified in two ways. There are the so called primary headaches and there are the secondary headaches. Primary headaches are headaches that stand alone when they occur. They do not rely on other illnesses; this kind of headache consists of the migraine headache, tension headaches and such.
Secondary headaches are headaches that are symptoms or complications of other illness. This can be brought upon by other problems and aches with the body such as tooth pain, or from sinus problems and the like. Many of us in the new millennia would rather just pop a pill or two from a pharmacy and lie down and wait for it to tide over. This for us is the fastest and easiest way to remedy a headache. These drugs are designed and manufactured to target the problem areas to relieve the pains. But from the years of before, we know that there is a natural remedy or remedies to relieving headache.
Some painkillers though can provide some side effect which some people don’t want. So they prefer to wage war against headaches the natural way. Mother Nature’s plants and herbs have provided some wonderful ways to treat headaches naturally. Some are brewed as teas or used as a rubbing lotion or oil to provide heat or coolness to the affected area. Some natural remedies may also provide soothing relief through the olfactory senses with their smell.
The best way to determine what natural headache remedy or remedies to use is to first determine what kind of headache you have. Not all natural remedies work for both type of headaches and it is essential to know what type you have so that your natural headache remedy would be potent and effective.
Some of the more popular natural headache remedies use herbs and plants. The Chamomile is one of those. Hot Chamomile tea soothes the pain and relaxes your body and mind making you forget the pain. Feverfew helps diminishes and lowers fever and at the same time relives pains of headaches. Ginkgo and arnica are also a crowd favorite. Peppermint is used as a natural headache remedy for sniffing/smelling or applied to the head for soothing headache relief. Then there is Lavender, it is made into a compress and applied to the forehead for more natural relief.
There are so many others that you can use, but prevention is still the best medicine. Try to avoid stress because it is one of the major causes of headaches. Also keep your body clean inside and out. Your headaches rely greatly to your state of health and if you are healthy and relaxed, chances are you don’t have to worry about headaches as much as the others do.
